What to Expect This is an opportunity to become part of a fast-growing, world-class organization supporting the latest energy technologies. The Tooling, Process & Training team is responsible for developing the hardware and processes used during the installation, commissioning, and service of Tesla Energy products. This skilled and motivated individual will keep pushing the evolving energy industry forward by collaborating closely with the design and supply chain teams to bring new service tools to life, on schedule and under budget. They will oversee the change control process, ensuring the design documentation is always up to date, and communicate the latest design revisions to our suppliers. What You’ll Do Become a single point of contact for service tool manufacturing and sourcing, working closely with suppliers around the world Lead change control meetings for the tooling design team Ensure released design documentation is complete and up to date Support in-house tooling assembly for prototypes and limited production runs Lead tooling cost reduction efforts, through DFM changes and new vendor qualification Develop and manage supplier QC assembly and part documentation What You’ll Bring 2+ years of DFM/DFA experience in low to medium volume manufacturing 1+ years of part release and change control experience Understanding of common manufacturing methods including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, 3D printing, and injection molding Proficiency in 3D CAD (3DX and/or SolidWorks preferred) Familiarity with PLM software (Enovia preferred) Experience interpreting and creating 2D part and assembly drawings Strong communication skills and a hands-on approach to problem solving Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $80,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
